Dr. Jason Hornbacher to become Supt. of Schools effective March 1
The Bismarck School Board tonight approved a contract for Dr. Jason Hornbacher to become Superintendent of Schools effective Friday, March 1st. Hornbacher will replace interim Superintendent Jim Haussler.
Although Dr. Haussler had agreed to be interim Superintendent until the end of the school year, the Board accepted his retirement in conjunction with their approval of Hornbacher’s contract. Board President Matthew Sagsveen stated he was pleased with this arrangement because it will allow Dr. Hornbacher to immediately get involved in important decisions affecting school next fall, and Dr. Haussler will be available to help consult and support Hornbacher over the next four to five months. Sagsveen expressed his sincere gratitude for Dr. Haussler stepping in to the Superintendent’s position. “It’s a huge job,” stated Sagsveen. “But we are excited to get Dr. Hornbacher in place and work on the transition at Dorothy Moses.” The District will find temporary coverage for Hornbacher’s principal duties at Moses by the end of February.
