Capital City Christmas donates $10k to BPS Foundation

Capital City Christmas donated $10,000 to the Bismarck Public School Foundation to be used to increase accessibility to Fine Arts within BPS. These funds will be utilized to assist the Share the Music program, which provides instruments to students who are financially disadvantaged, as well as increase accessibility to the arts within each BPS school.

Governor Burgum proclaimed September 13-19 Arts in Education week, in which it is noted that arts education supports the social and emotional well-being of our young people in addition to supporting academic success, personal growth, and many other skills which prepare our students for the 21st century workforce.

Funds for this donation were raised through three main events that were held by Capital City Christmas sponsored in part by the Dakota West Arts Council in collaboration with several businesses and individuals within the Bismarck community.  The events held were Breakfast with Santa, the Tree Lighting Ceremony and the Mayor’s New Year’s Eve Gala.
