LEGO Education is an engaging platform for students to learn many curricular standards with hands-on activities. Michael Jacobson, a Bismarck Public School library media specialist and Master Educator of LEGO Education shared information with the School Board last night about how students are using LEGO Story Starter Kits, STEM Kits, LEGO Robotics and more.
The Board also approved the concept of an Innovation Pathway Waiver, allowing BPS secondary schools and the Career Academy to work with school staff, members of business and industry, and others to create a comprehensive plan that provides multiple pathways to high school graduation. The waiver will be brought back for Board review this spring.
The Board also heard a report on the Strategic Planning Process. The committee is currently working on a new mission, vision and values statement for the district.
