Bismarck Public Schools has secured two large grants to benefit students and staff.
The district has been awarded more than $150,000 in federal funds over the next two years to improve security at schools and on school grounds. BPS Safety Coordinator Becky LaBella says the funds will be used to purchase and install security cameras at school facilities.
The school district has also received a music allocation from the state of North Dakota for nearly $94,000. BPS Fine Arts Coordinator Shawn Oban says the funds will be spent for such things as musical instruments for classrooms and the Share the Music program as well as some teacher training.
