Give input on Parks & Rec Indoor Community Rec Complex
Bismarck Parks and Recreation District (BPRD) has scheduled a public Open House and a Presentation Session on Wednesday, October 16 to present conceptual plans for a proposed Indoor Community Recreation Complex in Bismarck. A recreation complex was identified as a community priority during the recently completed Facilities Master Plan.
The Open House will be from 10am-4pm at the Capital Ice Complex, 1504 Wichita Drive. This is a drop-in format with BPRD staff and project consultants on site to explain facility elements and programming plans and to receive community feedback. There will also be a Presentation Session at 6:30pm to introduce the initial facility plans and programming opportunities. Community feedback and input will also be welcomed at this evening session.
These public input sessions are part of BPRD’s Feasibility Study to determine the appropriate combination of facility elements to meet the programming needs identified during the recently completed Facilities Master Plan. The Feasibility Study will look at construction costs, operation and maintenance costs and potential revenue generation for a new Indoor Community Recreation Complex. Randy Bina, BPRD Executive Director, said, “Community input is an important part of this process and helps determine the feasibility of such a facility.” BPRD has contracted with GreenPlay, LLC, a nationally known parks and recreation management consulting firm to oversee the Feasibility Study. UBL Design Group is assisting GreenPlay during the Feasibility Study.
