The Bismarck Public Schools Foundation is honored to announce the development of the Don Prouty Memorial Scholarship for a longtime Bismarck Public Schools principal and entrepreneur, Don Prouty.

Roosevelt Elementary Named a 2022 National Blue Ribbon School
The U.S. Department of Education has named Roosevelt Elementary School in Bismarck a National Blue Ribbon School for 2022. Roosevelt is one of three schools in North Dakota, and 297 nationwide, to receive this honor.

Elk Ridge Teacher Honored as a Finalist for 2023 ND Teacher of the Year
Abby DuBord, a first-grade teacher at Elk Ridge, was honored as one of the four finalists for the 2023 North Dakota Teacher of the Year Award.

Scholarship Developed to Honor Former BHS Principal
The Tom Hesford Memorial Scholarship has been established in Tom’s memory by his family and friends who would like to see his passion, for education and helping others to succeed, be passed on to future generations. Starting in the spring of 2023, one $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from Bismarck High School to continue their post-secondary education.

BPS Family Assistance Fund
The Bismarck Public Schools Foundation (BPSF) has established a BPS Family Assistance Fund. Those that wish to donate may do so through the foundation website or by mail. To donate online, go to https://www.bpsfoundation.com/donations/bps-faf/. To donate by mail, send checks to the BPS Foundation at 806 N. Washington St., Bismarck, ND 58501 and write “BPS-FAF” in the memo line. Families seeking assistance are encouraged to reach out to their counselor or social worker who will connect them to established community resources as well as submit requests for funding needs that cannot be met within existing resources. The BPSF thanks those who have already reached out to volunteer and/or provide monetary donations to help those within our community who are struggling.
