Transfer Requests

All Transfer requests require the proper grade level form filled out along with a Primary and Secondary Proof of Residence.

Grades K-5

EXISTING Transfer Requests:

Students in grades K-5 who have an existing, approved transfer will receive a letter in December regarding the process for next year. They will be notified in April regarding whether their transfer will be granted for another year. There is no need to re-apply. Students on existing transfers will be given preference over students with a new transfer request.

NEW Transfer Requests:

Transfers may be requested through the following process:

Log in to the Powerschool Parent Portal. If you do not have access to Powerschool, then please contact your school secretary.
Select the student transfer form. This may be found in the "forms" area, under the "general" category.
Complete the online form. Please be certain to upload the required documentation.

The deadline to request a transfer for students who will be in grades K-5 in 2026-2027 is Friday, March 6, 2026. Parents will be notified by mail after decisions are made by August 1, 2026. Transfer requests submitted after the deadline will be decided on a case-by-case basis.

Grades 6-12

EXISTING Transfer Requests:

There is no need to re-apply. Approved middle school transfers will go to the feeder high school (Horizon to CHS, Wachter to BHS, Simle to LHS).

NEW Transfer Requests:

Transfers may be requested through the following process:

Log in to the Powerschool Parent Portal. If you do not have access to Powerschool, then please contact your school secretary.
Select the student transfer form. This may be found in the "forms" area, under the "general" category.
Complete the online form. Please be certain to upload the required documentation.

The deadline to request a transfer for students currently enrolled in grades 6-12 who don't have an existing transfer is Tuesday, December 23, 2025 (last day of school before holiday break). Decisions will be made after the middle of January as to whether or not their transfer request is approved.

For new students who enroll in the district after the deadline, transfer requests will be considered until May 15, 2026. After this time, transfer requests will be considered for the following school year only.

K-8 Virtual Academy

NEW Transfer Requests:

Transfer requests will be reviewed and approved at trimester for grades K-5 and semester for grades 6-8. Transfers may be requested through the following process:
