  • Public's help sought in locating runaway juvenile

    The Bismarck Police Department is asking the public’s help in locating a runaway juvenile who has been missing since December 5th. Caylee Anne Miller is a white female, 15 years old, 5’4” 210 pounds, with mid-back length brown hair. She was wearing a red flannel top, with leggings and no shoes. She was last seen going eastbound on foot from the 300 block of South 14th street on December 5th at 6:21 p.m. She may possibly be in the Dickinson area. Anyone with information about Miller’s location is asked to call the Bismarck Police Department at 701-223-1212 or their local law enforcement agency. Click the headline for photos.

    Is it bullying or is it student conflict? Does it make a difference? In a word, yes. The difference between student conflict and student bullying is similar to the difference between speeding and reckless driving. Both require investigation; sanctions will differ.   • Open Gym on weekends

    Bismarck Parks and Recreation District (BPRD) is offering an Open Gym Program for youth and adults to use neighborhood gymnasiums on Saturdays and Sundays in a supervised, free play environment. It is a free program which runs through March 4, 2018. Times and school locations can be found on the BPRD website at www.bisparks.org.

    Court reservations will be taken for adult teams interested in practicing at the World War Memorial Building or Simle Middle School.  Reservations can be made for the weekend by calling 222-6454 between 8:30 am and 5 pm on the Friday preceding weekend play.  Each team will have a court for one hour.

    The Open Gym Program is provided by BPRD in cooperation with Bismarck Public Schools.

  • Dec. 11 School Board Meeting

    The Bismarck School Board will meet at 5:15 pm at the City-County Building at 221 N. 5th Street. The public is invited to attend the meeting or watch it LIVE on cable channel 2.

  • Dec. 14 CHS "SHOES" project

    Century High’s leadership class, in combination with the Peer to Peer group at CHS is presenting the “SHOES” project at the Capital Gallery, 109 N. 4th St. (free parking in 3rd St. ramp) on Thursday, Dec. 14, 6-8 pm; the shoes created by students each depict a message.

    SHOES stands for Stories of Hope, Optimism, and Expressions of Strength. It’s a project CHS is doing as part of a Samsung grant. The gallery presentation will show the community what it’s like to “walk in someone else’s shoes” in terms of diversity, disability, etc.
