What are the office hours of the Adult Learning Center?
The office of the Adult Learning Center is open 8:15am-2:45pm, Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday, 9:00am-2:45pm Wednesday and 8:15am-12:15pm on Friday.
Is an appointment needed to register for classes?
Yes, you do need to register for classes. A group registration takes place approximately every two weeks. An initial placement test is taken shortly after group registration. Finally, an individual intake appointment is set up to determine into which class you will be placed.
Is an appointment needed to take a GED test?
Yes, you will need an appointment to take a test. The GED Testing service is only open at certain times. If testing times are currently set up, those times would be listed on the GED.com website once you have registered yourself and opened an online account for yourself.
What are the hours of the GED testing Center?
The testing center is open only during testing sessions. You can reach the center by phone and leave a message at (701) 323-4530 if testing personnel are not available.
Can I take all of the GED tests in one day?
No. The GED Testing Center is only open a few hours a week. Generally, only one test may be taken during one testing period. In some circumstances, two tests may be taken, but this is only available by previous arrangement with testing personnel.
Is there a fee to take each test?
Yes, there is a fee. The fee for each test is $30.
Are GED prep classes mandatory in order to take a GED test?
No, prep classes are not mandatory, but they are highly encouraged for a number of reasons. Our instructors have a good sense of what you will need to know for the test and have practice tests available that will help you not only pass the tests but to get higher scores on those tests.
Is there a website that would provide some preparation?
Yes, there are several websites available, but not all are official or free. www.GED.com is the official website. You may find other information elsewhere, but be careful of websites that ask you to pay a lot for information.
Do I have to pay to take classes at the Adult Learning Center?
The classes we offer are free; however, there is an initial registration fee of $50.
