April 26th & 27th - No Head Start classes/there will be ECSE & CF classes
There will be no Head Start classes on April 26th and 27th. The Head Start staff will be conducting virtual home visits with all the families. There will be ECSE and Community Friends classes these days.

April 28th - Make Your Own Kindness Hive
Make your own Kindness Hive parenting class!
On Wednesday, April 28th at 2pm, a virtual parenting session will be held to learn more about “Encouragement” through the Conscious Discipline Program, the school wide behavior expectation program, and how you can help at home. A Make-n-Take Kit to make your own Kindness Hive to use at home will be sent to you before the class. April 30th - No School
There will be no school for any students on Friday, April 30th. This is a winter storm make-up day that didn't have to be used so it is a day off.

May 13th - Slide Into Summer Celebration!
BECEP families are invited to the Slide Into Summer Celebration on Thursday, May 13th at the Super Slide Amusement Park from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
Unlimited Amusement Park Rides from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
Picnic at Shelter #8 from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
The Super Slide Amusement Park is located in Sertoma Park on Riverside Park Road near the Dakota Zoo. The event is free for all families of BECEP.
The Raising a Reader program will provide free books and preschoolers going on to Kindergarten will receive a blue library bag to keep.
In case of severe weather, the event will be held the following Thursday, May 20th.

Students to Bring Small Water Bottles
BECEP is asking students to bring their own personal, small water bottle. The water fountains in the building will not be in use this school year.

BPS Board Survey
The Bismarck School Board wants to assess public support of the District’s direction, while also gauging the efficacy of District communications.
We are requesting that stakeholders set aside a few minutes to take this survey, which is available online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LXYQFKC through Friday, April 23. Results will be presented to the School Board.

BPS Family Assistance Fund
The Bismarck Public Schools Foundation (BPSF) has established a BPS Family Assistance Fund. Those that wish to donate may do so through the foundation website or by mail. To donate online, go to https://www.bpsfoundation.com/donations/bps-faf/. To donate by mail, send checks to the BPS Foundation at 806 N. Washington St., Bismarck, ND 58501 and write “BPS-FAF” in the memo line. Families seeking assistance are encouraged to reach out to their counselor or social worker who will connect them to established community resources as well as submit requests for funding needs that cannot be met within existing resources. The BPSF thanks those who have already reached out to volunteer and/or provide monetary donations to help those within our community who are struggling.

Register for 6th grade summer band camp!
BPS summer band camp is for students entering 6th grade and will take place August 9-13 & 16-19 at Simle Middle School, 1218 Simle Dr. Choose the morning (9-11:30 am) or afternoon session (12:30-3 pm). Reminders about the camp will be sent via email by the district. For up-to-date information, go to www.bismarckschools.org/Page/162. Apr. 25 Live Your Legacy 5K/10K
The public is invited to register to participate in the Live Your Legacy 5K/10K event to support Brave the Shave. It will take place Sunday, April 25, at Sertoma Park Community Center in Bismarck, with registration at 1:30 and race at 3 pm. The event is being sponsored by the Legacy High School Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) to fight childhood cancer.
