Classroom Placement Consideration
Classroom placement for the 2021-22 school year will begin in a few months. At Liberty and Bismarck Public Schools we want success for every child and we do our best to make good matches for all students as we work through placement in classrooms. All of our teachers are highly qualified and work to ensure a quality education.
Placement in classroom families is a very strategic process that takes into account a number of variables. Those variables include but are not limited to: academic skills, assessment scores, social/emotional needs and special services the student is receiving.
For the 2021-22 school year Classroom Placement Considerations will replace Teacher Requests. With the new process we will be looking for special academic needs that your child may have as well as what attributes you are looking for in a teacher. We value your input as we work to set students up to be successful learners.
The form must be picked up by a parent/guardian in the Liberty office between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and will be available starting March 5th. All classroom placement considerations must be turned in by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 19th. Please complete the form only if your child has specific academic needs or you are looking for specific attributes in a teacher. Completing the form does not guarantee placement in a specific classroom nor does it guarantee a specific arrangement for your child. -
Fruit & Veggie Week - March 8-12
Bismarck Public Schools is excited to host the 11th annual “Fruit and Veggie Week” March 8-12th in its elementary schools. BPS school nurses developed this project in order to get students excited about living a healthy lifestyle - not only in school but in everything they do.
Staff and students are encouraged to bring fruits and vegetables for their snack and to dress in the corresponding color. (Although the fruit/vegetable brought from home does NOT need to be the color of the day to count!) Teachers will record the number of students in their class who bring fruits and veggies for snack that week and the winning class of K-2 and winning class of 3-5 will each receive an Apple Award sign and a 15 minute recess with me, Nurse Paula!
Below are the colors for the week. The asterisks are what will be served for lunch that day.

Art Minions Art Club
Come and join us for a fun and creative after school art club. Students will create one to two projects each day of the session in a number of different mediums. Techniques, art history, famous artists , the use of mediums - and more will be discussed as we are doing art! Lead by an instructor that can't wait to spread her love of ART! Register month to month . Wednesdays from right after school until 5:00 p.m. $50/artist for each month. We will be requiring masks, if bringing an after school snack it needs to be a single serve prepackaged snack. We will be keeping supplies separated and they will be sanitized between sessions. Sanitizer will be available. If suffering any symptoms the artist should refrain from coming to class. Class size limited to 25.

Power Up Thursdays
We are powering up at Liberty every Thursday. Staff dresses in their best workout gear and sets out to issue power slips to our “out of this world” students. When we notice our students doing great things we issue power slips on the spot!

Box Tops for Education
This is an easy way that Liberty families can help raise money for the school by clipping box top labels from every day products. Each clipping is worth $.10. We typically raise about $2,000 each school year.
You can save these throughout the school year by putting them in the Ziploc baggies. They are collected by the PTO four times a year.
