Office 365 is a FREE communication and collaboration package. It includes email, calendaring, cloud storage, collaboration spaces, and online document editing using Office Web Apps.

Why activate my Office 365 account?

  • Free of Charge….. Office 365 gives you access to the latest version of Microsoft Office products online (no downloads necessary, accessible anywhere, similar to Google Apps).  The online versions include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sway, Flow, OneDrive, OneNote, etc.
  • ND Educator Office 365 accounts also include the option to download and install a full copy of Office Professional 2016 Free of Charge. This includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher on up to 5 computers (PC or Mac), 5 tablets, and 5 phones and the ability to load Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Apps on a personal iPad. https://products.office.com/en-us/student/office-in-education
  • K12 Educators, staff, and students across North Dakota can easily email, collaborate, share work, and chat, with anyone in the ND K12 education system using Office 365 http://www.edutech.nodak.edu/365/
  • ND educators may be required to use Office 365 when they participate in statewide committees, etc., in order to collaborate with educators throughout the state

Why would I have my students activate their Office 365 accounts?

  • BPS students can email anyone within Bismarck Public Schools. O365 accounts allow students to email anyone (Ex:  interview business people, contact colleges, contact other students within ND, etc.) 
  • Office 365 allows students the option to download Free of Charge the latest version of Office on up to five machines.
  • ND students may be required to use Office 365 if they participate in statewide student organizations, etc., in order to collaborate with other students throughout the state
  • ND students are allowed to keep their O365 accounts for two years after graduation!
