Jean’s Day is Friday, January 29, 2021. Jean’s Day is Friday, January 29, 2021. The Jeans Day charity for the month of January is Sleepy Hollow Theatre and Arts Park. Established in 1990, Sleepy Hollow Theatre & Arts Park’s vision is total emersion in nature with youth in the arts as our humanizing focus. Sleepy Hollow Theatre & Arts Park involves young people by showcasing large theatrical Broadway style musicals outdoors at the park. This has been possible due to outstanding community sponsors and our ability to attract about 10,000 people annually to quality full scale production programming. As a force moving forward for all people, Sleepy Hollow Theatre & Arts Park’s mission is to nurture youth by providing quality pre-professional educational opportunities in the arts that result in the cultural enrichment of our communities and state. Please visit www.shtap.org and thank you for helping us grow together! Thank you for your continued support of the Jeans Day Program – it really does make a difference in the lives of so many! Warm regards, Bismarck Tribune

Visiting the School
Visitors must enter the school through the main entrance at 1218 Simle Drive and check in at the school office prior to going to any other areas of the building. Visitors will be issued a visitor badge, which should be worn during the visit and returned to the office when leaving the building. All doors entering the school will be locked during school hours.

Dropping Off Students at School
Please do not double park in front of the school. This causes congestion and danger for students on foot. Please do not drop off or pick up students in the parking places reserved for staff and school buses. This will help in getting the area cleared as quickly as possible. Attempt to meet your child in a designated spot near the school to avoid congestion. Students arriving at school before 8:00 a.m. may go to the cafeteria for breakfast, to their assigned grade level gathering area, or remain outside weather permitting.
In the morning, students can be dropped off on the West side of the building at the 19th Street entrance before 7:45 a.m. After 7:45 a.m., students can come in on the East or West side entrances. Once the school day starts at 8:08 a.m., all students will have to enter on the Simle Drive entrance. This is the same for any guests entering the building.

The Needs Nook needs YOU!
We are asking for donations of diapers, wipes, tampons, and feminine pads. These donations will help serve children 0-18 that receive support from the BPS Students in Transition program, BECEP, South Central High School, all BPS social workers working with families in need, Healthy Families of Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota, and the Adopt-A-Block program.
We have seen an evident need to help people in our community with basic items such as diapers, wipes, and feminine hygiene products. This underlying need in our community is now exacerbated due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting rising unemployment. WIC and SNAP benefits help with food, but do not help with these items or other personal hygiene items for children and families in our community. A group of organizations along with faith leaders are working with families and have come together with the goal of meeting the current above-mentioned needs and building relationships between churches and organizations to continue and increase the scope of support into the future.
Our first goal is to collect and build resources so the above organizations can distribute to families in need. Donations can be dropped off at:
Century Baptist Church (205 Colt Dr.) Monday & Thursday 11:00 am-1:00 pm.
Evangel Church (3225 N 14th St.) Wednesday 12:00-1:00 pm.
J&R Vacuum (223 E Main Ave) Monday-Friday 9:00 am-6:00 pm. Drop off at loading dock and call 258-5619 at time of delivery.
To have donations picked up, call Becky Matthews at 701-220-5271. To learn more about the Needs Nook, contact her at rebecca239@bis.midco.net or 701-220-5271.
