    Teacher EPI Survey:

    Candidates applying for teaching positions will be prompted via an email notification to complete the Teacher EPI Survey after submitting their online application.  This survey is a part of the application process and is taken into consideration when the district is selecting potential employees.   

    Candidates only need to complete the survey once every 12 months.

Bus Driver

  • School bus driver

    School Bus Drivers provide transportation for students before and after school as well as on field trips and for club, athletic and fine arts activities.  When drivers are not on driving assignments, they may be asked to assist with freight and mail delivery within the district.  Bus Drivers must meet current DOT standards, have a minimum of a Class C or higher commercial license with air break endorsement, and first aid and CPR certification.

Bus Monitor

    School Bus Monitors assist the bus driver in maintaining good student conduct on the bus.  The bus monitor also assists students, when needed, on or off the bus and ensure that they enter and exit the bus in an orderly manner.  Bus monitors are vital in providing safe transportation for our students to and from school.

Child Nutrition Staff

    Our Child Nutrition Staff provide an essential service to our students keeping them nourished to aide in growing and learning.  Duties include food prep, serving, cleaning, restocking, cashiering, and washing dishes.  Staff should work towards providing students attractive, nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, warmth and cleanliness while meeting necessary nutritional guidelines.

    If you have experience in cooking and enjoy a physically active job that includes extended periods of standing, stooping and bending and can lift up to 30 pounds, then we want you on our team!

    Our Custodial Staff play an integral role in providing students a safe, attractive, comfortable and clean place in which to learn, play, and develop. Custodians are repsonsible for cleaning, repairing and maintaining the interior and exterior of the school district bulidings and grounds.  Interaction with students, staff and the public is likely and an important part of the job.

    Candidates should have experience as a custodian and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.   If you enjoy a physically active job that truly makes a difference for students, then this is the position for you!

Instructional Aide

    Instructional Aides play a key role in student learning by providing direct support to students and assistance to the certified teacher or specialist.  Our instructional aides assist the teacher and/or the program specialist to achieve teaching objectives by working with students individually or in small groups.  Students may have varying levels of needs including physical, intellectual and/or emotional.

    Instructional aides should have experience working with individuals with special needs; have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; and the ability to obtain a ND Paraeducator Certificate.  If you enjoy working with and making a difference in the lives of students, this is the role for you!

Morning/Lunch Supervisors

    Morning/Lunch Supervisors are hired throughout the year to help supervise students before school and during lunch.  Depending on the grade level, this may also include playground supervision as well as monitoring student behavior in the cafeteria during meals.

    Bismarck Public Schools has a variety of Secretary positions throughout the district.  These positions provide complex and confidential secretarial and administrative support to the school-site principal and/or other administrators.  They convey information regarding school functions and procedures; ensure efficient operation of support functions; and coordinate assigned projects and site activities.

Early Intervention Specialist

    Our Early Intervention Specialists work with our youngest children of pre-school age in a variety of areas including occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech language pathology, special education and social work.  Early Intervention Specialists work with children ages birth to three with developmental delays in the home and child care settings.  Early Intervention services are delivered as a coaching model, working with the child's primary caregivers to embed skills the child needs to learn into the child's daily activities in natural environments.

Library Media Specialist

    Employees who work as Library Media Specialists provide guidance and assistance to students and staff in utitlizing all methods of research and information gathering.  The Library Media Specialist works to create conditions for collaboration across grade levels and assists with the integration of technology while maintaining an age-appropriate collection of books and resources.

Occupational Therapist

    Occupational Therapists provide direct and consultative services to students.  They work collaboratively with the student's IEP team and participate in evaluation, program development, planning, intervention, and monitoring the outcome of intervention.  School-based occupational therapists work with teams to incorporate interventions and practice of motor skills into the classroom schedule.

School Psychologist

    The School Psychologist is a professional trained to work with students, families and educators to help make education a positive and rewarding experience.  Duties may include: consulting with others about child development in relation to learning and behavior; education on classroom management; effective environments for learning; evaluating students' skills in areas such as academics, social development, personality and emotional development; helping students and families resolve conflict and problems related to learning; and evaluating effectiveness of academic and bahavior programs.

Social Worker

    School Social Workers work collaboratively with the Bismarck Public Schools' administration, teachers and professional support staff to implement effective intervention strategies for the school system and individual students.  The social worker provides direct services to students; crisis intervention; individual/group intervention; classroom intervention; home visits; liaison with families; and referral to community agencies.

Speech Language Pathologist

    We rely on Speech Language Pathologists to assist staff in determining student-needs by observing, assessing and referring students who have potential speech impairments.  Speech Lanaguage Pathogists conduct formal and informal assessments of the speech language development of students, providing speech language services as directed through the IEP process and working collaboratively with school teams and parents.

Student Performance Strategist

    Student Performance Strategists work as instructional coaches providing staff development in coordination with district goals during Professional Learning Communities.  They often observe instruction in the classroom and provide immediate feeback to teachers and assist the teacher in meeting student needs.  Student performance strategists will demonstrate lessons in curriculum and teaching techniques for all team members.
