Wednesday, May 8 is National BIKE TO SCHOOL DAY and May 6 - 10 is Bike to School Week. Go! Bismarck-Mandan encourages all students and their families to bike to school on Wednesday, May 8! Biking all or part of the way to school is an excellent opportunity to add physical activity to your day. Physical activity is not only good for our bodies, it helps students concentrate and learn! If you live too far away from the school, consider parking a few blocks away and riding your bike the rest of the way. Children of all ages are encouraged to participate in 60 minutes of physical activity each day. It is fun, easy to do, and free. The School Resource Officers (SROs) and Youth Workers from the Police Youth Bureau may be around the schools to offer prizes. The Police Youth Bureau and Go! would like to remind students to always wear helmets, bring a bike lock, and be safe when crossing roads.
