Bismarck Public Schools partnered with Sanford Health to name the school district’s athletic complex in northeast Bismarck the Sanford Sports Complex. It is located at 3306 E. Calgary Ave. west of Legacy High School. To book the facility, click this link: https://www.bismarckschools.org/Page/849.
Phases 1 and 2 of the project are complete. Phase 1 is the main football field, main entrance and concessions building, a third of the grandstands, and a soccer practice field. Phase 2 is the baseball turfed field, second building for maintenance and bathrooms, rest of the grandstands, and football practice fields. When the final phase is completed, it will add grass baseball, grass softball and turfed softball fields, a second entrance and concessions, and tennis courts.
The Sanford Sports Complex is a public-private partnership that will provide more space for youth of all ages at all schools and colleges, as well as adult leagues, to run track and play football, soccer, baseball, softball and tennis year-round. The Bismarck School Board committed approximately $10 million to the project initially, and a committee is working to raise the rest privately.
