Health Services
Health services are provided for consultation, teaching and training, monitoring and direct service. The nurse makes an assessment of the health needs that impact a student's ability to attend school. The nurse develops health plans and procedures to meet those health needs, trains and educates the appropriate staff to provide care, and monitors this care throughout the school year. Assessing student health needs includes meeting with parents, collecting and interpreting medical reports and communicating with individual health providers and community resources. The nurse is a member of the IEP team as needed.
