    As a new employee with Bismarck Public Schools, the onboarding process begins when our offices receives notification of the hire.     Background checks will begin the process for hiring with Bismarck Public Schools for all new staff (except teachers who have just received their license through ESPB).  Teachers & Administrators will have the online background check completed if it has been over a year since they received their ND Teaching Certificate. 

    Human Resources will reach out to you to begin the background checks with BPS once we receive the hiring notification.  

    BPS uses 2 forms of background checks:
    Online background check and fingerprinting.

    The BPS mentorship program is designed to build a sense of community and shared learning experiences for teachers and professional support staff who are new to the district while empowering mentor teachers to grow in a leadership role.

    New staff are paired with a mentor for one or two years, depending on their experience level. We offer four Mentorship Dinners throughout the year to enhance professional learning and provide support to our new staff.

    Our Mentorship Program provides opportunities for meaningful and timely collaboration on topics directly related to the students we teach.
