Horizon Traffic
Please do not use the parking lots to pick up or drop off students. This is a huge safety concern for students and staff. The north area is only for busses and staff parking.
Morning and Afternoon Traffic
In order to help ease the morning traffic congestion on Ash Coulee Drive, please consider the following:
*use the bus if your student is registered for it;
*drop your student off at the lighted sidewalk located on Fountainblue Drive behind the school;
*carpool
Please share this information with others that pick up or drop off your student.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Immunizations: Required for all 7th graders and 8th graders
North Dakota requires all 7th & 8th graders to have received the meningococcal and Tdap vaccines prior to 7th grade, or if you're new to the district as an 8th grader. You can receive the vaccinations any time after your 11th birthday.
Students who are not up to date or don’t have an exemption turned in by October 1 will be excluded from school and this will count as an unexcused absence. Contact your child’s health care provider or Burleigh County Health (355-1540) about the immunizations your child will need.
You can drop off the updated immunization or exemption in the front office, or email Kelly Dietz for more information. *If you have already submitted the required documents, you do not need to submit another copy.

Change of address and contact information
If you change your ADDRESS, please contact Central Registration, 323-4110 or online here.
If you change ANY phone numbers or emails please contact the office at 323-4550 or email with the updated information. Most of the information the school sends out is via email or phone. It is VERY important to keep your child’s contact information current.
-
Cut-slips and messages
We want to avoid interrupting classes during teaching time. In order to avoid this, please make sure you do the following:
- If your child has an appointment scheduled during the school day, send a note with your student for the Attendance Secretary so they can get a cut slip. The cut-slip allows them to leave class for the appointment. This is very important so class doesn't get interrupted by calling into the classroom for the student.
- It is important to inform your child of their after school arrangements before school. If it is an emergency and you need to call during the day, make sure it’s before 2:30 in order to be able to deliver the message in time.
-
No Fast Food/Restaurant Deliveries Accepted
Parents, please refrain from bringing in outside food. No restaurant or fast food deliveries for your child will be accepted. Students have the choice of bringing a cold lunch from home or having the school’s lunch options.
- If a student has to be gone from school during their lunch time, have your child eat lunch before returning to school. No lunches are allowed to be brought into the classrooms.
-
Cell Phones
Cell phones are to be put away and turned off during school. To make a phone call, go to the front office. If sick, go to Student Services.
