School Psychologists are professionals trained to work with students, families, and educators to help make education a positive and rewarding experience.
The duties of a school psychologist may include: consulting with others about child development and its relationship to learning and behavior; educating others about classroom management strategies and effective environments for learning; evaluating students' skills in areas such as academics, self-help, social development, and personality and emotional development; helping students and their families to solve conflicts and problems related to learning; and evaluating the effectiveness of academic and behavior programs.
The Bismarck Special Education Department's six School Psychologists are nationally certified and meet state requirements.
