MAP Testing (Measures of Academic Progress)
MAP testing is administered in both the fall and spring to all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Results are used for math placement as well as a qualifier for our Read Right program. It is a valuable tool that helps measure and monitor student growth. For more information contact Tania Gerving, Horizon's Instructional Strategist.
NDSA (North Dakota State Assessment)
The North Dakota State Assessment is administered to all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in the state of North Dakota. Students are tested in the following areas: Math, Reading, and Language Arts. The 8th graders are also tested in Science. The test is now computerized except for the 8th grade Science test. The 8th grade Science testing window runs from October 19th - November 6th, 2015. The dates for the Math, Reading, and Language Arts tests are not set yet, but the test window will open sometime mid-March (2016) and go until the end of the school year.
