Laura Henkelman is one of two Career Advisors in the Bismarck Public Schools. She will be a resource to students at Horizon Middle School while conducting activities that include career exploration, interest inventories and preliminary information about the ND Academic and CTE Scholarship.
Laura Henkelman will spend time with the 6th graders examining and understanding the different personality types as used in the Myers-Briggs Personality Pathways. At the 7th grade level, students will explore careers that are consistent with their values, interests and abilities followed up by an interest inventory, introduction to the 16 career clusters and a possible career fair for the 8th grade students.
At the 8th grade level students will also engage in a 4-year academic plan and will be given information about the ND Academic Scholarship the ND CTE Scholarship, high school requirements and high school class offerings.
