Announcements Staff Powerschool Library Calendar

Welcome

Dear Horizon Parents,

In an effort to reduce the limitations of the existing seven period schedule, a block schedule will provide greater student choice of electives, more flexible time for student interventions, and increase the access for staff collaboration during shared teaming and planning periods. We will implement the block schedule next fall.

Horizon staff will continue to provide the best opportunity for learning, achievement, and long term student success. Revised registration worksheets include similar electives that will be offered at Simle and Wachter. This will allow all students to enroll in two full year courses, one full year course and two semester electives, OR four semester electives. The new schedule affords the Horizon students an equitable course offering and a more flexible schedule comparable to the other middle schools which have implemented the block schedule.

Please feel free to contact me at 323-4550 if you would like more information regarding scheduling.

Sincerely,

Sherry Heaton
Principal
