Look What We Are Learning
Reading - We are working on identifying and analyzing characters in a story. We are also working on identifying a setting and plot. We will learn how to read words with 2 and 3 letter blends.

Writing - In Writer's Workshop we will be learning about writing friendly letters and be creating pieces that explain how to complete a procedure (recipe, tying shoes, how to carve a pumpkin, etc.).

Math - This month in math we will be focusing on addition and subtraction facts within 10 and writing numbers to 120. We will also work on telling time to the hour and ˝ hour.

Science / Social Studies - We are using a program called Second Step which teaches us how to be
be good citizens, understand why we have rules, learn how to be active listeners and stay
focused to learn. We will also be working on identifying people and events honored in
United States holidays along with Veteran's Day and understanding the interaction of Native Americans with the Pilgrims for Thanksgiving.
