Bismarck Public Schools has five school board members who are elected for four-year terms. In this part of our web site, you can view our district budget, look at meeting materials and past meetings, and search for specific board policies. See the links to the left to navigate through the Board pages.
All meetings are held at 5:15 p.m. (cst), in the Tom Baker Meeting Room located in the City/County Office Building, 221 North 5th Street, Bismarck ND. Meetings are also carried LIVE on Dakota Media Access, Cable Channel 2 and replayed the following day at 12 Noon.

The Meetings
The Board meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month with the exception of July, August, and December, when meetings are held on the second Monday only. The meetings are held in the Tom Baker Room at the City/County Building, 221 North 5th Street, Bismarck, beginning at 5:15 p.m. School Board meetings are televised live on Dakota Media Access, Cable Channel 2.
All meetings are open to the public and are subject to North Dakota law. A majority of the Board (3) constitutes a quorum for the transaction of business. Agendas are available at each meeting for visitors and for the news media. The order of business follows this pattern:- Call to Order

Appearing Before the Board
The citizens of Bismarck are not only welcome to attend the School Board meetings, we encourage you to do so! The first order of business at each monthly meeting is Public Appearances. While it is not necessary to let the Board know about special citizen concerns in advance, such advance notice is appreciated. The School Board will listen to any citizen concerns, but may not take any formal action at that same meeting. The President may limit the length of time spent on Public Appearances.
