Every third year each Library Media Specialist with more than three years of experience will participate in a comprehensive evaluation. Each Library Media Specialist initiates this phase by completing the Professional LMS Self-Assessment (A1).
The Library Media Specialist will review the Professional Self-Assessment with his/her supervisor. Using the Framework Identification Form (A2), the Library Media Specialist and supervisor will determine the components to be assessed. The Library Media Specialist will identify three components and the supervisor will identify two. They will also determine the methods of assessment, which will include a formal classroom observation.
While completing the library observation, the supervisor will complete the Level of Performance - Rating Sheets (A6). After completing the observation, the supervisor will complete the Performance Review (A4). In preparing the Performance Review, the supervisor should consider factors considered on the Framework Identification Form (A2) as well as the Pre-Observation Form. Other items or artifacts should also be included.
