AES Engineering Scholarship
This $500 award is available to high school seniors motivated to furthering their education. You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible. Students must submit an essay to a question posted on their web site: www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.htm. Deadline: October 7


Abbott and Fenner Business Consultants Scholarship
The A & F Scholarships worth $1,000 are available to juniors and seniors with the desire and ambition to succeed. To apply you must write an essay in response to the topic found at www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htm. Deadline: June 10


Aid Association For Lutherans Scholarships
AAL is a membership organization and only members are eligible to apply for the AAL scholarship. Applications are sent to the homes of each eligible member. Applications can also be requested at the local AAL district representative office.


American Cancer Society Childhood Cancer Survivor College Scholarship Program
The Great West Division of the ACS awards $2,500 renewable scholarships to young cancer survivors. Apply at www.cancer.org/myacs/greatwest/programsandservices/childhood-cancer-survivor-college-scholarship-program. Deadline: February 22


American Chemical Society (ACS) Scholars Program
The scholarship is designed to encourage African-American, Hispanic, and Native American students to pursue college degrees in the chemical sciences. ACS will award scholarships worth up to $5,000 per year. Apply at www.chemistry.org/scholars. Deadline: March 1


American Fire Sprinkler Association Scholarship Contest
National essay contest with a total of ten $2,000 scholarships. Contest details, essay requirements and the application process can be found at www.afsascholarship.org. Deadline: April 7


American Indian College Fund/Hilton Family Diversity Scholarship
Scholarship awards of up to $2,500 for American Indian students entering tribal colleges. Must have a GPA of at least 3.0, financial need, and demonstrated leadership, service, and commitment to the American Indian community. Visit www.collegefund.org for more information. Deadline: May 31


Anthony Monroe Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Anthony Monroe, a 2002 graduate of BHS who was killed while serving in Iraq. Applicants must be entering into a Multi-Media program or course of study (ex: TV production, photo journalism, broadcast journalism, media arts, etc) and demonstrate financial need. Deadline: May 1

Army Emergency Relief - James Ursano Scholarship Fund
Awards primarily based on need for dependent children of Army soldiers on active duty, retired or deceased. Applicants must maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA. Download at www.aerhq.org. Deadline: May 1


Aspiring Animation Professional Scholarship

Associated General Contractors of North Dakota Scholarships
Scholarships worth $1,500 for students planning to enroll in Construction Management or Construction Engineering at NDSU and $750 awards for those in Construction Technology at BSC or construction, engineering, welding, or diesel technology related courses at NDSCS in Wahpeton. AXA Achievement Community Award
Up to 180 $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to seniors who demonstrate ambition and self-drive as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community or work-related activities. AXA Achievement Scholarship
For seniors who set and reach ambitious goals, demonstrate drive, determination and the ability to succeed in school as well as respect for self, family, and community. Program offers $10,000 scholarships to 52 students, plus $15,000 additional scholarships to 10 national recipients. B. Davis Scholarship

Bank of ND Real DEAL Scholarship
Every month, October through March, eight seniors from across ND will be awarded a $500 Real DEAL scholarship. In April, these 48 students will have the opportunity to compete for one - $3,000 scholarship. Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and 3 or more extracurricular activities to be eligible. Basin Electric Power Cooperative Scholarship Program
More than 160 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each are awarded to children of full-time employees of Basin and its subsidiaries, and the children of member-cooperative employees and consumers. Deadline: February 15


BCC Foundation Donna Johnson Memorial Scholarship
The Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation (BCCF) will award two $1000 scholarships to individuals who are interested in and committed to oncology nursing and who are pursuing a baccalaureate degree in nursing through a Bismarck college. Find at www.bismarckcancercenter.com. Deadline: April 15


Better Business Bureau Student of Integrity Scholarship
The BBB will award two $2,500 and two $1,000 scholarships to students who personify all the best aspects of high character in their personal choices and actions. BigSun Athletic Organization Scholarship
A $500 scholarship is awarded by BigSun Athletics to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. Complete essay in response to question found on their website: www.bigsunathletics.com. Deadline: June 20


Bismarck Dollars for Scholars
Scholarships of $500 will be given to successful applicants from the Bismarck area who plan to further their education. At least two of the scholarships will be awarded to seniors who plan to attend a vocational-technical school. Online at: www.bismarck.dollarsforscholars.org. Deadline: February 28


Bismarck Eagles Auxiliary Scholarship
The Eagles Auxiliary provides a $500 scholarship to a student attending BSC. Financial need is given more importance than scholastic average. Deadline: April 15


Bismarck Kiwanis Club Scholarship
Individual one-time scholarships of $1,000 are given to three local seniors who plan to enroll in an institution of higher learning in North Dakota. Criteria includes: scholastic record and ACT/SAT scores; future plans, school activity record and personal qualities that indicate potential success in college; good citizenship and service involvement; and financial need. Deadline: March 1


Bismarck Masonic Foundation Scholarship
Five scholarship awards are given to Bismarck seniors who plan to attend college in ND. Criteria includes academic record, future plans, an essay and school, church, & community involvement. Deadline: April 24


Bismarck Public Schools Scholarship
One senior from each public high school - BHS and CHS - will be selected. Selection will be based on academic achievement, need & school performance indicating probable success in higher education. Deadline: April 1


Bismarck Rotary Club
The Bismarck Rotary club awards five one-thousand dollar scholarships-one to a graduating senior from each local high school. Criteria includes: scholastic record, co-curricular and community involvement and leadership qualities. Application available at the Rotary website: www.bismarckrotary.com. Deadline: March 15


BSC Foundation Scholarships
Awards from $500 to $2,000 per year (depending on financial need) for qualifying students in academic, performing arts, visual arts, journalism, and certain vocational programs at BSC. Application available at www.bismarckstate.edu/scholarships. Academic Priority Deadline: January 25. Deadline: March 1

Bismarck State College - Chesak Family Scholarship
This $1000 scholarship is available to new students at BSC in one of the following programs: Geographic Information Systems Tech; Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning; Mechanical Maintenance Technology; Medical Laboratory Sciences; Web Page Development & Design. Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Apply at: bismarckstate.edu/scholarships. Deadline: April 30


Buick Achievers Scholarship Program
If you have a passion to succeed - especially in fields of study related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) - the Buick Achievers Scholarship Program is looking for you. Burger King Scholars Program
Scholarship grants range from $1,000 to $50,000, and are intended to help students offset the cost of attending college or post-secondary vocational/technical school. Recipients are selected based on their grade point average, work experience, extracurricular activities and/or community service. Capital Credit Union/Dakotas' Credit Unions' Scholarships
Capital Credit Union is offering scholarships for seniors who are members (or their parents are members) of CCU and will be attending college in ND. The DCU will award scholarships to seniors who exemplify volunteerism, community service and leadership. Both scholarships are available at www.capcu.org in January of each year and specific details and deadline information is included at that time.


Centennial PTO Shelley Stumpf Memorial Scholarship
Two seniors who attended Centennial for a minimum of one year will receive $300. The committee will consider the following criteria: school and community involvement, academic standing, and an essay. Applicants should visit the PTO page at www.centennial.bismarckschools.org to download an application. Deadline: February 17


Century High School Staff Scholarship
A graduating senior who attended CHS for at least three semesters will receive a one-time award of $500. Criteria: financial need, academic standing, and school & community activities. Deadline: March 15


Chevy Scholar Program
West Dakota Chevy Dealers invite nominations for outstanding juniors and seniors to compete for two $5,000 scholarships - eight other finalist will receive $500 awards. Students can nominate themselves or be nominated by family, friends, parents, teachers or coaches. Nominators fill out basic information including community involvement, academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and volunteer work. Get details at www.facebook.com.wdchevy. Chris Traeholt Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship will assist a student from Century High School who is planning to enroll in the engineering department at North Dakota State University. Deadline: April 1


Coca-Cola Scholars Program
150 well-rounded seniors who are active in their school and community and balance extra-curricular activities with strong academic performances will be named "Coca-Cola Scholars" and awarded $20,000 scholarships. The application can be found at the Coca-Cola web site at http://www.coca-colascholars.org. Deadline: October 31


Commitment to Agriculture Scholarship Program
One hundred awards of $1,500 will be presented to seniors whose families are engaged in production agriculture and plan to pursue a career in agriculture. Minimum ACT composite score of 18 required. Download applications at www.monsanto.com, or www.nafb.com. Deadline: February 15


Dakota Stage/Shade Tree Scholarship Award
Seniors who are alumni of Shade Tree Players or Dakota Stage Ltd. are eligible to apply for this $500 award. Requirements include one-page essay, theatrical resume, 2 letters of reference, and 20 hours of community service. Download application at www.dakotastageltd.com. Deadline: March 1


Dixon Wightman Scholarship
This $1,000 award was established to honor longtime teacher and coach Dixon Wightman. The award will be made to a BPS track and field athlete who generally exhibits solid moral character and strong academic performance. Preference will be given to a CHS shot put, discus, or javelin thrower. Deadline: April 1


Eagle Scout Scholarship
Eight scholarships ($4,000 & $8,000) nationwide for registered Eagle Scouts. Must have SAT score of 1090 or ACT score of 26 and financial need. Website: www.bsa.scouting.org. Deadline: February 28


Education is Freedom (EIF) Scholarship
EIF is a new national foundation that provides scholarships ranging from $500 - $5,000 to B' average students whose families cannot afford tuition and whose grades do not qualify them for traditional scholarships. Elks Emergency Educational Grant
Renewable one-year grants of up to $4000 for child of Elks who are deceased or totally incapacitated. Visit www.elks.org/enf/scholars for details or email scholarship@elks.org to request application. Deadline: Dec. 31


Elks Legacy Awards
Four-year $4,000 awards for children or grandchildren of an Elk in good standing. Applicant should exhibit core values of knowledge, charity, community and integrity. Also judged on ACT/SAT scores, transcript, application and essay. Available at www.elks.org/enf/scholars. Deadline: January 29


Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship
Local winners (3 male, 3 female) receive from $400-$800. Five hundred national winners receive a minimum of $4,000. Must be a U.S. citizens, do not have to be related to an Elks member. Judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Available at www.elks.org/enf/scholars. Deadline: December 4


Farm Credit Services of ND Scholarships in Agriculture
Ten scholarships for $1000 each will be awarded to seniors who plan to enroll in college this fall. The recipient may be from an actively farming or ranching family OR planning to pursue an agricultural career. Selection is based on academic record, personal attributes, vocational promise, leadership, and financial need. Apply at www.farmcreditmandan.com or www.agcountry.com. Deadline: March 1


Farmers Union Co-op House Scholarship
For students with at least a 2.5 GPA planning to attend NDSU and are Farmers Union members, relatives of past Co-op House members or member of a cooperative. First Community Credit Union Scholarship
Both multi-year (renewable) and single year scholarships of $1000 will be awarded to FCCU members or children of FCCU members. Criteria includes GPA, test scores, extra-curricular activities and essay. Go to www.myFCCU.com. Deadline: Third Friday of March

Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund
The Freedom Alliance honors our military heroes by granting scholarships for dependent sons or daughters of US soldiers who were permanently disabled or killed while serving their country. Apply at www.FAScholarship.com.


Gene L. Kouba Memorial Scholarship
Adam Klein Chapter #3, Disabled American Veterans offers this scholarship worth up to $1,000 for veterans of the US Armed Forces, spouses and children of veterans. Deadline: April 15


GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program
This national program awards college scholarships to high school seniors who embody the characteristics of President Ronald Reagan at school, in the community, in the workplace, and at home. They're looking for students with leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship. Recipients receive $10,000 renewable scholarships - up to $40,000 per student. Girl Scout Gold Award Scholarship

Highland Acres Elementary Scholarship

Horatio Alger Association Scholarships
Scholarships (minimum award of $2,500) available to seniors seeking to pursue career and technical education in a post-secondary school. For students who have financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. Apply online at application.horatioalger.org. Deadline: October 25


Horizon Financial Bank Scholarship
The employees of Horizon Financial Bank are offering one $300 scholarship to a senior from each high school in Bismarck. The applicant and/or parent must be a customer of the bank. Deadline: May 1


Horizon Middle School Staff Scholarship
One-time scholarships in the amount of $500 will be awarded to graduating seniors who attended Horizon Middle School for at least two full years. Recipients will be chosen based on character, need, accomplishments, and goals. Available online at www.horizon.bismarckschools.org/horizon/counseling/. Deadline: April 1


HotelsCheap Scholarship Program

Intel Science Talent Search Awards and Scholarships

Jeannette Myhre Elementary School PTO Scholarship
Seniors who attended Myhre for a minimum of three years are eligible to apply for a $500 scholarship. Criteria includes academic standing and school & community involvement. Deadline: May 2


Jeff Burgess Memorial Scholarship
The Lignite Energy Council established this scholarship to assist a graduating senior from Bismarck planning to pursue a science-related career. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate self-motivation, respect for others, honesty, and dependability. Apply at http://ndcf.net/Bismarck/index.asp. Deadline: April 1


Jim and Barbara Blaine Scholarship
Applicants must have attended CHS for 2 of 3 high school years. Preference will be given to students who are descendants of present and former Century High School Staff. Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Other criteria includes a balance of academic achievement and co-curricular activities. Deadline: April 1


Kathy Eggmann Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship will assist a graduating senior from Century High School who is active in Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA). The award is based on need and ability. Deadline: April 1


LendEDU Scholarship
LendEdu, a marketplace for student loans and student loan refinance, is offering two $1,000 scholarships. Applicants need to answer this essay question in 750 words or less: How do you plan to responsibly utilize scholarships, financial aid, student loans, or other things to pay for college? McKelvey Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarship

Minnesota-Dakotas District Kiwanis Educational Foundation Scholarship Grant
CHS can nominate three seniors for a one-time scholarship of $815 to be used in higher education institutions located in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Superior, WS. Awards are based on scholastic ability, need & seriousness of purpose. Deadline: January 17


National Farmers Union Foundation Scholarships
The Hubert Seymour Scholarship offers a $2,000 award for a senior continuing his/her education for any area of study. A one-page essay is required. Deadline: March 5. The Stanley Moore Scholarship awards several $1,000 scholarships to Farmers Union members. Deadline: April 15. National Federation of Independent Business Young Entrepreneur Awards
Minimum of 100 scholarships ranging in value from $1,000-$10,000 to recognize young people who have demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit/initiative. National Multiple Sclerosis Society Scholarship Program
High school seniors who have MS or a parent with MS are eligible for scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $3,000. The Upper Midwest Chapter granted 90 scholarships last year to help college bound students touched by MS. Available online at www.nationalmssociety.org or tinyurl.com/MSScholarshipProgram. North Dakota Academic Scholarship/North Dakota Career and Technical Education Scholarship
Scholarships of $750 per semester or $1,500 per year for students attending college in ND and meeting the criteria outlined at www.dpi.state.nd.us/resource/act/act.shtm. Deadline: June 2

North Dakota Association of the Blind Scholarships
The Emma Skogen Scholarship is a $1,000 award to one student who is visually impaired and in need of financial assistance that plans to attend a vocational or trade school. North Dakota Corn Growers Association Scholarship
Ten $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to children of current ND Corn Growers Association members. Criteria includes activity participation and transcript. For more info, go to www.ndcorn.org. Deadline: January 5


North Dakota Crop Improvement & Seed Organization
Three $1,000 scholarships to the NDSU College of Agriculture are available to incoming freshmen. Applicants and/or guardian must be member of their respective county Crop (Ag) Improvement Association. Website: www.ndcropimprovement.org. Deadline: February 15

Eight $500 scholarships are available to seniors who excel in community service.

JoAnn Link Hetzel Vocational/Technical/Trade School Scholarship
Sixteen scholarships awarded to seniors planning to attend vocational, technical or trade schools.

Military Scholarship
Fourteen $1,000 awards to dependents of members of a ND military unit/installation.


North Dakota Farm Bureau Future of Ag Scholarship
This $500 scholarship will recognize academic achievements as well as leadership skills of high school seniors enrolled in any agricultural college. Application available at www.ndfb.org/edusafe. Deadline: April 15


North Dakota Farmers Union Scholarship
College-bound seniors with at least a 2.5 GPA and whose families are members of Farmers Union may apply for this scholarship. The field of study is not limited to agri-business, farm operation or production agriculture but should relate to/benefit rural America. North Dakota Indian Scholarship Program
Applicants must be an enrolled member of federally recognized tribe and a resident of ND who has been accepted for admission to a ND college. Merit-based scholarships are available to all valedictorians and students with 3.5 GPA or higher. Recipients of the need-based scholarship must have minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and show financial need (complete FAFSA). North Dakota Jaycee Senate Lisa Burdolski Memorial Scholarship
The ND Jaycee Senate awards four scholarships worth $300 each. The scholarships are dedicated to the memory of Lisa Burdolski, a child of a Jaycee who died as a result of a car accident. Two primary award winners and two alternate winner will be selected. Primary winners are then eligible to compete nationally for $1000 scholarships from the US JCI Senate Foundation. Applications can be found online at http://nd.usjcisenate.org/. Deadline: December 15


ND Rural Water Systems Association Patrick Denne Memorial Scholarship
Up to $7,000 will be awarded to children or grandchildren of current city/rural water system employees or elected city/rural water system officials OR to students enrolled or planning to enroll in BSC's Water and Wastewater Technology program. Deadline: April 30


North Dakota Scholars Program
Recognizes outstanding students for scholastic achievement as measured by ACT score and academic record. Only ACT scores earned prior to senior year are considered. Top scholars who enroll in a ND college or university will be awarded an in-state tuition scholarship. Funding is available for approximately 30-40 new students each year. There is no application.


North Dakota School Counselor Association Scholarship
A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one ND student. Complete essay: "My career path and who/what helped me make my decisions". Deadline: December 20


North Dakota Stockmen's Foundation Scholarships
The NDSF offers seven $500 collegiate scholarships to members (or children of members) of the Stockmen's Association. Get more information and applications at www.ndstockmen.org. Deadline: March 1


Northridge Elementary August Ritter Memorial PTO Scholarship
A $750 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who attended Northridge Elementary for at least one year. This scholarship is not based solely on academics. Deadline: March 31


Pauline Paul Memorial Scholarship
CHS seniors with a GPA of at least 2.5 are eligible. The selection committee will consider the student's volunteer community service activities, financial need and experience in dealing with cancer in the applicant's family, i.e. parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Deadline: April 1


Prudential Spirit of Community Awards for Youth Volunteers
CHS may nominate one student who has been engaged in volunteer activities in the last year. State winners receive $1,000 and a trip to Washington, D.C. in May. National winners receive an additional $5,000 award. Available online at www.spirit.prudential.com. Deadline: October 31


Reuben T. Guenthner Scholarship
Two $350 scholarships will be awarded to ND seniors who completed at least one career and technical education course in high school and plan to enroll in a career and technical education program of two years or less at a North Dakota school. Apply at www.nd.gov/cte/students/RTGScholarship.html. Deadline: April 1


Road to Success Scholarship Program
Sixty $1,000 scholarships awarded to seniors currently insured or dependents of those insured through a personal auto policy with Grinnel Mutual or Grinnell Select Insurance Company. Must have a 3.0 GPA and clean driving record. Visit www.grinnellmutual.com to complete online application. Deadline: March 15


Robert Miller Elementary School PTO Scholarship
A one-time $500 scholarship to a former Miller Elementary student graduating in 2016. Must have attended Miller for at least one year and a have a GPA of 3.0 or above. Essay and recommendation also required. Deadline: February 1


Ronald McDonald House Charities U.S. Scholarship Program

Ross Loibl Memorial Scholarship
Seniors who participated in varsity basketball are eligible for this $500 scholarship. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or better. Other criteria includes the student's work experience, community service, other extra-curricular activities and financial need. Deadline: April 16


Rotary Four-Way Test Essay Contest
Essays of 500 to 1,000 words may treat any subject of interest to the student, specific or general, but must include
the principles of the Four-Way Test (explained on student guidelines). One local winner receives $150 and advances to regional and district competition to compete for an additional $1,100. More information is available for download at http://www.clubrunner.ca/5580. Deadline: March 15


Siemens Westinghouse Competition
Rewards students for developing and demonstrating their talent for scientific research. Apply online at www.siemens-foundation.org for a chance to win prestige and thousands of valuable college scholarship dollars. Deadline: October 1


Simle Middle School Parent Advisory Scholarship
The Parent Advisory Council of Simle is offering four $250 college scholarships to graduating seniors who attended Simle for at least two semesters. Deadline: April 15


Society of Automotive Engineers Scholarship Program

Solheim Elementary PTO Scholarship
Two scholarships of $500 for seniors who attended Solheim Elementary School for at least two years. Scholarships are awarded based on scholastic achievement, extra-curricular activities, work experience, community involvement, and future plans. State Farm Good Neighbor Scholarship
Up to 50 recipients will receive a $2,500 reward. Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 to 3.2, demonstrate financial need, be a US citizen, and plan to enroll as a full-time student at a two- or four-year college, or voc/technical school. Through the Looking Glass Scholarship
Five separate $1,000 awards will be given to graduating seniors who have at least one parent with a disability. Download an application at www.lookingglass.org. Deadline: March 1


Tom Sturdevant Scholarship
This award is for a graduating senior athlete from CHS who plays above his potential and with "heart", is involved with year round training, and participates in either football or track. Deadline: April 1


Tri-Energy Cooperative Scholarship
Scholarships worth $500 will be awarded to patron members (or children of patron members) of Tri-Energy Cooperative. Patron members are those who have done at least $1,500 worth of business in current year. Criteria includes honors, extracurricular activities, community involvement, career objectives, academic record and an essay. Available online at www.cenexofbismarck.com. Deadline: April 15


Tylenol Scholarship
The makers of Tylenol will award ten $10,000 scholarships and 150 $1,000 scholarships to students who demonstrate leadership in community activities and school activities and major in areas that will lead to careers in health-related fields. Tyler Herman Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Jeff and Kelli Herman in loving memory of their son Tyler Herman. The primary purpose is to financially assist students from Bismarck/Mandan who have lost either a parent or sibling. Preference will be given to students who attend Century or Bismarck High Schools. Deadline: April 1


USA Funds Access to Education Scholarship
Awards of $1,500 to qualifying seniors with an adjusted gross family income of $35,000 or less. Up to 50% of the awards will be targeted to applicants who are members of an ethnic minority or have a documented physical disability. Download at www.usafunds.org. Deadline: February 15


U.S. Bank Scholarship Program
Recipients selected by random drawing for $1,000 scholarships from those who apply online at www.usbank.com/scholarship. Deadline: March 31


U.S. Senate Youth Program
Two ND students will be selected to participate in the U.S. Senate Youth Program in Washington D.C. Here, they will be instructed on the role of the U.S. Senate in the federal government. All expenses are paid, and in addition, each delegate will receive a $5,000 scholarship. Applicants must be a junior or senior currently serving in an elected capacity (such as student council). Wachter Middle School Parent Advisory Council Scholarship
A one-time award of $500 for two students who completed at least four semesters at Wachter. Wells Fargo CollegeSTEPS Program
Wells Fargo will give away $1,000 college scholarships to 100 high school seniors. Winners are selected by random drawing of those who register at www.wellsfargo.com/collegesteps. The first drawing is October 31.


Zonta Club of Bismarck Scholarship
The Zonta Club of Bismarck will award a $1,000 scholarship to a female student pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics. Deadline: March 20
