COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is a study of culture, geography and history of Eastern Hemisphere nations. Emphasis is placed on political and economic systems, as well as religious and cultural differences and similarities. It is an explanation of historical events and how those events apply to world conditions today.

HOW WILL I BE GRADED?
Your class score will be based on total points with the exception of the semester/or Final test being worth 10%. The course grade will be based on daily classroom work, maps and projects, quizzes, unit tests and some homework.
LATE WORK POLICY:
20% off for all late assignments within the unit. After the unit test no late work will be accepted for that unit-a zero will be entered.
DISTRICT GRADING SCALE:
F= 64% and below
IS PARTICIPATION NECESSARY?
Students should actively participate in the class discussions, take unit notes and complete all assigned readings. Participation is expected as it is essential to your success in the course!
WHAT DO I DO IF I MISS SCHOOL?
It is your responsibility to ask for make-up work if you are absent. You have two days for every day gone to make up your homework. If you are gone for a school related function (sports, music, etc…) you need to get your assignments ahead of time! You are RESPONSIBLE to have that work COMPLETED when you return.
