Bismarck Kiwanis Club Scholarship

Amount: $1,000
Criteria:
- Must show good citizenship, volunteerism, and service involvement in the school, church, and community
- Strong Scholastic record and ACT/SAT Scores
- Financial Need
Process: Pick up an application in Student Services
Deadline: March 1st, 2017

Kiwanis Educational Foundation Award

Amount: $850
Criteria: Must attend a ND, SD, MN, or WI college or university
Process: Pick up an application in Student Services
Deadline: January 20th, 2017

ND Rural Water Systems Association Scholarship

Amount: Varies
Criteria:
-Must be a child or grandchild or a current city/rural water system employee or elected city/rural water system official
OR
- Must be enrolled or planning ton enroll in the BSC Water and Wasterwater Technology Program.

Deadline: April 30th, 2016

Farm Credit Services Scholarship

Amount: $1,000
Criteria: Recipients must be from an actively farming and/or ranching family, or be planning to pursue a career in farming or some other aspect of agriculture.
Process: Pick up an application in Student Services or online at www.farmcreditnd.com
Deadline: March 1, 2017

AXA Achievement Scholarship

Amount: Varies from $2,500 to $25,000
Criteria: Be United States citizens or legal residents living or claiming residency in one of the 50 united states, Washington, D.C. or Puerto Rico
-Be current high school seniors who plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States for the entire 2017-2018 academic year
-Demonstrate ambition and self-drive as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community or work-related activities
-Because reducing risk is woven into the fabric of our company, special consideration is given to achievements that empower society to mitigate risk through education and/or action in areas such as financial, environmental, health, safety and/or emergency preparedness

B. Davis Scholarship

Amount: $1,000
Criteria: Must be attending a college or university fall 2017

Elks National Foundation Scholarship

Amount: Varies $4,000-$50,000
Criteria: Any high school senior who is a U.S. citizen may apply for an MVS scholarship. Applications will be judged on: Scholarship, Leadership, and Financial need.

Deadline: November 30th, 2016

Nurse.org Healthcare Leaders Scholarship

Amount: $1,000
Criteria: Based in Bellevue, WA, Nurse.org is seeking applications for the Healthcare Leaders Scholarship. To be eligible for the $1000 award, students must have a GPA of 3.0 or above, be pursuing a degree related to healthcare, and submit a 600-1000 word essay by January 29th. Scholarship is offered once a year and award is paid directly to the student.

Lisa Burdolski Memorial Scholarship

Amount: $300
Criteria: Graduating high school seniors in the United States, where that state has an active JCI Senate program. You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this scholarship.

Deadline: January 15th, 2017

Real Deal Scholarship

Amount: $500
Criteria:
-Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
-Demonstrate community and school involvement in at least three activities
-Plan to attend a North Dakota college
Process: Apply online at https://bnd.nd.gov/scholarship/
Deadline: You only need to apply one time to qualify for all six drawings. The sooner you enter, the more chances you have to win.

Wendy's Heisman Scholarship

Amount: Varies
Criteria: Must have a 3.0 GPA and participate in at least one of the 43 sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee. The applicant must also be a leader in school and in the community.

Deadline: October 3rd, 2016

Horatio Alger Scholarship

Amount: $7,000-$25,000
Criteria: -Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree
- Demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income)
- Be involved in co-curricular and community service activites
- Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
- Must be a U.S. citizen

Deadline: October 25, 2016

2016 North Dakota Scholars Program
Amount: 30-35 in-state tuition scholarships (renewable if a 3.5 GPA is maintained in college)
Criteria: Must plan to attend a North Dakota college or university, take the ACT no later than June 13, 2015, and rank in the 95th percentile or higher on the ACT composite score of all ND students taking the ACT.
Process: ACT scores are automatically sent to the North Dakota University System.
Deadline: Must take the ACT no later than the June 13 test date.

North Dakota Academic Scholarship
Amount: $750 per semester, $1,500 per year, renewable up to four years for a total of $6,000 (students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 while in college to renew).
Criteria: Must plan to attend a two-year or four-year public college or university in North Dakota. Some private colleges are participating as well. Stop in Student Services for a complete list. To qualify for the scholarship the following criteria must be met:
--Obtain a grade of at least a C in each course required for graduation including the specific courses identified in the scholarship requirements and a cumulative GPA of at least a B.
--Receive a composite score of at least a 24 on an ACT no later than February 9, 2013.
Course Requirements:
--1 credit of Algebra II
--1 credit of mathematics for which Algebra II is a prerequisite*
--2 credits of the same foreign language, Native American language, or sign language; Or 2 credits of CTE courses from a Coordinated Plan of Study
--1 credit of fine arts or career and technical education**
--1 additional credit of fine arts, career and technical education, or foreign language***
--1 credit of an AP course and completion of the AP exam in that course or either 1/2 credit or 1 credit in a dual credit course****
Process: An online application will be available March 1.
Deadline: June 7. Notification of award will be sent to students by June 30.

*Math for which Algebra II is a prerequisite:
Probability and Statistics -- .5 credit
Introduction to Discrete Mathematics -- .5 credit
Applied Trigonometry -- .5 credit
Pre-Calculus with Trigonometry -- 1 credit
Enriched Pre-Calculus with Trigonometry -- 1 credit

All Art Department courses
All Music Department courses
English Department -- Advanced Theatre Arts

***Career and Technical Education:
All Business Administration Department courses
All High School of Business Department courses

Speech, Web Page Design, Computer Programming II, Anatomy/Physiology, Pre-Calculus, Enriched Pre-Calculus, and Probability and Statistics

Course Requirements:
--1 credit of Algebra II
--2 credits of a coordinated plan of study recommended by the Department of Career and Technical Education. BPS Coordinated Plans of Study are listed below.
--1 credit selected from foreign languages, Native American languages, American Sign language, fine arts, or Career and Technical Education
--Any 5 additional credits, 2 of which must be in the area of Career and Technical Education.
Process: An online application will be available March 1.
Deadline: June 7. Notification of award will be sent to students by June 30.
