Greg placed 5th in the disc with a throw of 156'3 ".

Greg placed second in the disc with a throw of 163'7".

 Lacy Dewall 2001: 3rd in Javelin
Lacy Dewall 2001: 3rd in Javelin

Lacy set a than school rubber tip javelin record throw of 131'7" placing third in the javelin.

Greg Eslinger 2002: 5th in Discus

Greg Eslinger 2002: 5th in Discus

Greg placed fifth in the disc with a throw of 152'10". He went on to play at the University of Minnesota for Football, he was drafted by Denver, with Cleveland in 2007 and is currenty with the Texans. He is the second Demon to play for the Gophers, first being John Baumgartner who played Full Back for the Minnesota in the 1950's.

Sarah placed eight in the shot with a throw of 35'11".

Josh and Rob

Josh Obrigewitch 2003: 5th in Discus

Rob Bohr 2003: 3rd in Discus & 5th in Javelin


Josh threw 151' on his third throw giving him a fifth place finish in disc, Rob who never joined track untill his senior year placed fifth in javilin with a 172' throw and 3rd in disc with a throw of 159'6" beating his regional qualifying throw by over 12 feet.

Kat improved all year to place 8th in Shot.

Josh Obrigewitch 2004: 1st in Shot

Josh Obrigewitch battled back after a horrible day one and having another school wearing "Beat O.B." t-shirts at the state meet by throwing 54'11" and becoming the first state champion shot putter at BHS since Howard Hausaur in 1987.

Cody Keeler 2004: 5th in Discus

Cody battled off stiff competition from Century to take Fifth with a throw of 151'8".

Ben Jacobson 2004: 7th in Discus

Ben Jacobson had to stand and wait for five minutes in the ring because of a measuring device malfuncton. He still threw 146'10" giving him a 7th place finish.

Dylan Glasser 2005: 2nd in Shot

Dylan just completing his 52'11" throw.

Cody Keeler 2005: 3rd in Discus

Cody battled the conditions to take 3rd with a throw of 155'3".

Ben threw with a PR of 49'2.75". Ben scratched his first throw, and had a horrible second throw but he fought nerves and finished the meet throwing 151' to take 7th in Disc.

Ben on the left won the state disc title with a toss of 173-10. Ben did a great job on his strength training and work ethic. Ben never lost a meet in the disc during the course of the season. Great job Ben! Video clip is from Howard Wood.

Scott Beeler 9th grade season was our 4th best thrower at BHS with P.R.'s of 34' in shot and 77' in disc. With his hard work in the weightroom, Scott takes 4th at state in shot with a throw of 51'9" and his disc improved to 143'5" during his senior year.

Eliza threw for a Personal Record 42-4.5 to take 4th in shot missing 2nd place by only on inch. Great Job Eliza!!!

Shannon placed Fourth at state throwing a Personal Record 126'. She place several spots ahead of her seed. Good Job Shannon!!

Britlyn (left) kept working hard in track and had a huge senior year throwing her best at state.

Britlyn moved up to number two all time in Javelin and has thrown the rubber tip javelin further than any one in the history of Bismarck High Girls Javelin. Way to go Britty!!!!

Kaitlyn started to throw her best in May and she will only get better the next two years at Bismarck High. Great Job Kaitlyn.

Eliza threw 42-6 and winning by a half inch becoming Bismarck's first state champion in the shot.

Tyler Bradley 2008: 2nd in Discus

Tyler Bradley came in to the state meet ranked 11th. His first throw was a scratch. His second throw was 161' which gave him a second seed going into finals. He eventually threw 163'8" which solidified him at second place.

Tyler, Darren and Eric helped score a surprise 14 points in the disc. This early success helped Bismarck win their fifth title in a row.

He quit being reserved and attack the discus ring throwing 153'3" taking sixth in the discus.

Despite some great throws that went out of sector he threw 49'6.5" taking 7th in shot.

Eric Klein needed his third throw in prelims to make finals (149'7"). During finals he had toe scratches that could of moved him higher than 8th. He put on a solid effort in disc.

Carman came in seeded 8th. She fell in warm ups and had two strait poor throws. She collected herself and threw far enough to make finals and eventually threw 35'8.5" halping her take sixth at state.

Katie Weigel had a big first year in track.

She broked the school record in WDA and at state she battled a strong head wind and took eighth with a throw of 114'11".

Tyler Bradley 1st in Discus

Tyler Bradley had a consistant year and kept the number one ranking in disc. I have had the pleasure to have coached him and his sister Miranda (state champ in shot). He and Eric Klein tied with a throw of 152-7 and Tyler won by second best throw. This has never happened before at a state meet.

Esley Thorton
Esley became the first Javelin champion for Bismarck High since Dave Burgess in 1971. He put in the effort this year to be a champion and came through when we needed him most. He won with a throw of 182'9".

Eric Klein 2nd in Disc 8th in Shot

Eric nearly won state by throwing 152-7 only to lose tie breaker to Tyler Bradley his team mate. He took 8th in shot also with a throw of 50-7. Eric worked hard all season and competed well in every meet. He will be competing in football at the University of Mary.

Both Alex and Eric after placing in shot.

Alex came threw in a big way at state, setting a one foot PR with a throw of 50-9 and placed higher than he was seeded in disc with a throw of 144-9. His points along with along with Tyler's and Eric's became the most scored by Demon throwers in disc ever. Thanks for the great effort Alex

Heather Champion
Heather Schulz 1st in Shot 8th in Disc

Heather put a lot of time in the weightroom and won State with a throw of 38'6". The conditions were not ideal but she competed well and over took Katie in finals. She sqeaked in finals for disc and improved to eighth place. Thanks for the effort Heather.

Kaitlyn Sturlaugson 1st in Javelin

Katie work hard all year and saved her best for last with a throw of 126 feet. She accomplished what her sister did two years before. Thanks for your effort Katie.
