Coaching Staff

Coach Jim Patton
Jim Patton
Head Coach

Coaching Experience:
Coach Patton has been coaching baseball at BHS since the program began in 1994. He is currently in his fourth season as the Demons Head Coach. From 1994 through 2010, he served as a Junior Varsity coach/Varsity assistant. For the previous two years, he served as the Varsity assistant under former coach Matt Power.

Off the Field:
Coach Patton played legion baseball in Bismarck for the Governors and college baseball at Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, KS. He is a Manager for Simonson Station Stores Inc. Jim and his wife Cindy have three sons, Benjamin, Nicholas, and Andrew, and one daughter, Elizabeth.

JV Gray/Assistant Coach

Coaching Experience:
This is Coach Carr's third year with the Demon Baseball program. Coach Carr will serve as the JV Gray coach and varsity assistant. He begins his fifth year with Wachter Middle School football and third year as an assistant coach for the Bismarck High Hockey team. He was the Junior Varsity Baseball coach at St. Mary's Central High School for two seasons. Coach Carr also spent seven years with the Hazen baseball program, leading them to their only state appearance, and started the baseball program in Beach where he won the district championship in the program's first year.

Off the Field:
Coach Carr graduated from Valley City State University in 2004. While a Viking, he played both football and baseball. He now teaches Art and is a local celebrity (doing the Wildcat News) at Wachter Middle School.

Scott Kinnischtzke
JV Black/Assistant Coach

Coaching Experience:
This is Coach Kinnischtzke's sixth year as a full-time coach with the Demon baseball program. He previously helped out with the Bismarck High School JV teams in 2005 and 2006 as a volunteer. Kinnischtzke is in charge of the JV Black team, and also serves as one of the varsity assistant coaches.

Off the Field:
Coach Kinnischtzke is a Demon baseball alum, graduating from BHS in 2000. He went on to play college baseball at Bismarck State College and club baseball for Minnesota State University - Moorhead. Kinnischtzke graduated from the University of Mary in 2005, and currently teaches special education and English at South Central High School. He and his wife, Trisha, have two daughters, Shea and Talia, and an extremely lazy bulldog named Samson.
