Welcome all Parents!
Welcome to the Bismarck High School Band. Whether you are a new sophomore or an upper classmen Band parent, you and your son/daughter are about to become involved in one of the most exciting and educationally powerful activities this year, the BHS Band Program!
As the parent of a BHS Band member, you are automatically a member of the Music Parents Organization. There are no "required" meetings to attend. You are not "expected" to do anything! However, we encourage you to become active in the Music Parents by volunteering your time or talent as needed (as little or as much as you desire).
Our goal is very simple: Lend all possible support to the BHS Music Program. We want to support our kid's involvement in this educational and worthwhile endeavor by actively lending our help and support to the Music Program. We strive to be the best parent organization we can be through effective:
It is the total involvement of the entire organization (students, parents and staff) that creates the positive and successful environment.
- Communication via our Newsletter, "Demon Downbeat", distributed to all BHS families.
- Communication via our e-mail-tree, to inform you of upcoming volunteer opportunities you have indicated interest in.
- General Parent Meetings:
- Positive, cooperative and professional atmosphere between students, parents and the BHS music staff at all times.
- Volunteering to assist with various BHS Music events and activities. We are Volunteers! We want to help and support the Music staff, not tell them how to run the Music program.
There may be times in your Music experience when you may feel confused or perhaps even overwhelmed. We try as much as possible to keep the lines of communication open. Please come join us and feel free to contact us at any time. All questions are welcome!
If you have questions, would like to volunteer, or would like more information, please call the Band Office. Thanks in advance for your help in volunteering your time and efforts!
